We are not sure why December 12th is gingerbread house day. But it is a perfect excuse to have a little fun during the holiday season.

Create a base that the gingerbread will sit on. Construct your walls. The walls are typically held together with icing.
Place the roof and secure it with more icing. You may want to let the house sit for a few minutes to firm up..
Now the fun begins. Decorate the house with various candies and treats. Secure the candy to the house with more icing. You imagination is the only limit.
