Go Out For A Guillermo

Originally one or two shots of hot espresso poured over slices of lime. It can also be served on ice, sometimes with a touch of milk.

Coffee connoisseurs will tell you that just as clothing styles change, coffee consumers, as well, seek out different flavors and coffee combinations from time to time. The cappuccino of yesterday, has today become an unusual blend of espresso and lime known as a “Guillermo”. Coffee and lime might not sound like a good match, but the sharp flavor of this citrus fruit with coffee works surprisingly well. The lime actually complements a full, fruity espresso.
Simply pour two shots of espresso over a couple of slices of lime, and serve with or without milk. You might also want to consider an “espresso romano”, which simply substitutes the lime for lemon. A well deserved pick-me-up!
