Accessing Three Sisters Springs is unique. In order to swim in this springs one must access the spring run via water – meaning paddling into the springs or boating to the entrance and swimming into the springs. Visiting the springs can be quite inexpensive if one has a kayak or paddleboard. Visitors can launch boards from Hunter Springs and paddle to Three Sisters Springs. There are also rentals nearby at Hunter Springs for those who do not have kayaks or paddleboards. The rental companies will provide instruction for new paddlers. The difficulty of the paddling depends on the marine forecast – on a calm day the paddle would be a leisure activity, but in strong winds or currents the paddle would be challenging. During the winter Three Sisters Springs is a refuge for manatees and it is possible to swim with the manatees. The manatees are protected so make sure to check the rules on the Three Sisters Springs site before planning a visit.
