Cenote Maya
Added By:

Created by limestone collapse, Cenotes have been used as far back as the Maya for freshwater supply and even sacrificial offerings.
Cenotes come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes providing a wide variety of activities. Â Chichen Itza boasts historically important Cenotes that have been used for sacrificial offerings. Others are vast openings perfect for snorkelling and still, others go deep underground ideal for diving exploration.
There are also a handful of cenotes that are part of a restaurant where diners can enjoy a meal, drink and a swim.
